The work of Southwick Community Association is to be shown on B.B.C. television in one item of a new Channel Two series called “The Social Workers”. The series – 16 half-hour programmes at 7.30 each Tuesday evening – will start on October 5, and the Southwick contribution will be screened on November 9.
A film unit has been taking shots of several community activities at the centre this week, including the weekly rifle club competition, square dancing and educational classes. The Wick Theatre Company performed a scene from “The Queen and the Welshman” about Henry Tudor and Queen Katherine, which won for the company the Southwick Drama Festival award in April, and the T.V. cameramen also filmed some of the behind-the-stage activities of the Southwick Players.
