HUNDREDS of Southwick residents brought their varied talents and skills, acquired and cultivated in their spare time at the Community Centre, to the Southwick and Fishersgate Community Association’s sixth annual Exhibition of Arts and Crafts on Saturday. ……
The Southwick Players’ entry Before the Morning won them the drama section of the exhibition in the evening. Adjudicator Mr D. Doggett told a large audience that in judging for four plays he pictured a temperature chart, with one high peak. Although all the settings were perfect only one play achieved this peak.

Other plays in the competition were Breaking Point, by Kingston and District Women’s Institute Drama Group, Kanawa by The Young Wick Players, and Head of the House, by the Green Circle Players.
