The Wick Theatre Newsletter of March 1987 carried this piece

“Southwick Festival.
Unfortunately, Mother Figure by Alan Ayckbourn wasn’t long enough and Pam Buxton had to change the play. However, she couldn’t cast the substitute play as we did not have time to notify members of the new choice and therefore the casting meeting was not well attended.

Margaret Ockenden came to the rescue with a play which she wanted to diriect and because of the time factor invited Ray Hopper, Karen Mulholland and Daphne Thornton to play in it; with the
Committee’s approval. The play is The Lesson by lonesco.”
